Aer Lingus is set to make history with Ireland’s inaugural direct flight from Dublin to Nashville, Tennessee. Starting April 12, 2025, the new route will offer four weekly flights using Aer Lingus’ narrowbody Airbus A321XLR aircraft.
This connection links Ireland to one of America’s fastest-growing cities, famously known as “Music City” for its rich musical heritage. Nashville will become the carrier’s first long-haul destination for the new A321XLR aircraft.
First Route for Airbus A321XLR
The Airbus A321XLR is a long-range performance aircraft with up to 20% lower fuel burn per seat than previous generation aircraft. As the widest single-aisle aircraft cabin on the market, Aer Lingus customers will also notice more space and wider seats. It also boasts the latest technology for in-flight entertainment, as well as acoustic engineering for quieter cabins.
The journey time from Dublin to Nashville is 9hrs 05 and 8hrs 10 return from Nashville to Dublin. The new route operating almost year-round, with a brief six-week suspension in January and February.
Nashville: ‘Music City’
Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus’ Chief Customer Officer, spoke enthusiastically about the new route. “Adding Nashville to our North American network gives Irish travelers direct access to one of the United States’ most vibrant cities.”

Doug Kreulen, President and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA), welcomed the new partnership. “This nonstop flight between Music City and the Emerald Isle marks a new era in travel.”

Nashville’s Mayor, Freddie O’Connell, added further comment. “Connecting Music City to the Emerald Isle is exciting. This new route allows Nashvillians and Dubliners to explore each other’s unique and vibrant cities.”

Nashville boasts world-renowned music venues and institutions. Visitors can explore iconic sites like:
- The Grand Ole Opry (hosting performances since 1925)
- Music Row (home to recording studios and publishing houses)
- The Country Music Hall of Fame
- Ryman Auditorium
Beyond its musical roots, Nashville is a thriving economic hub. With a metro population of 2.4 million, the city has flourishing fashion, healthcare, finance, and automotive industries.

This direct connection will strengthen economic ties between Ireland, Nashville, and Tennessee. Aer Lingus also offers seamless connections through Dublin to 22 European destinations. These include London, Edinburgh, Rome, Amsterdam, Paris, Manchester, and Berlin.
Tickets for the Dublin-Nashville flights are now available, starting from €499 return (including taxes and charges).
Passengers can take advantage of Dublin Airport’s US Pre-Clearance facility, allowing them to complete US immigration and customs formalities before departure.
This new route expands Aer Lingus’ transatlantic network, connecting Ireland to more opportunities. It also sees the deployment of the newest extended range A321XLR variant on a transatlantic service.
