An Aeromexico Boeing 737 MAX 8 operating a service from San Juan, Costa Rica to Mexico City made a return to the origin airport with a technical issue on 8 September 2024.
Aeromexico flight AM691 had conducted a departure from RWY25 Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), and was bound for Mexico City International Airport (MEX).

Shortly after departure, flight crew reported experiencing a problem with the aircraft’s airspeed indicators. As a result, the operating crew elected to make a precautionary return to San Juan.
The climb procedure was subsequently terminated and the aircraft was then positioned for a return. The flight landed without incident approximately 30 minutes after its initial departure.
