Slovakian airline AirExplore has recently inked a deal with Nigerian carrier Air Peace. This partnership will see AirExplore lease four Boeing 737-800 aircraft to the Nigerian airline from November 2024 to March 2025.
The damp lease agreement for the 4 narrowbody aircraft aims to boost the carrier’s capacity during the busy winter season.
Damp-Lease Agreement Details
Under the damp-lease arrangement, AirExplore will provide:
- Four 737-800 aircraft
- Pilots
- Maintenance services
- Insurance
Air Peace will complement these resources by supplying cabin crew for domestic flight operations within Nigeria.
Strengthening Ties in African Aviation
Martin Stulajter, CEO of AirExplore, offered his comments about the new collaboration. “This partnership will benefit Air Peace’s customers and strengthen our presence in the African aviation market. It also helps us maintain revenue during the challenging winter period.”
The contract was finalized during a recent visit to Lagos, Nigeria. Both Stulajter and Air Peace CEO Allen Onyema met to solidify the agreement, building on their previous working relationship.
Operational Logistics
Air Peace plans to base the leased aircraft in Lagos, Nigeria. The AirExplore 737s will join Air Peace’s existing fleet, which includes 12 Boeing 737-800s and various other aircraft types.
This addition will enhance the carrier’s ability to serve Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, as well as its routes across the continent, Europe, and the Middle East.

Air Peace has established itself as a major player in African aviation since its founding in 2013. As Nigeria’s flag carrier, the airline has rapidly expanded its operations to become one of the largest in West Africa.
The airline serves numerous domestic destinations within Nigeria and has steadily increased its international presence.
