An Air Serbia Airbus A319-100 preparing to depart for Belgrade rejected takeoff at London Heathrow after an engine failure on 20 September 2024.
Air Serbia flight JU211, an Airbus A319-100, was conducting a departure from runway 09R London Heathrow Airport. The aircraft was commencing a scheduled flight to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG).

As the aircraft began to accelerate in the takeoff roll it suffered the failure of one engine. Following the engine failure the flight crew conducted a rejected takeoff at low speed. The pilot brought the aircraft to a stop and returned it to the apron hardstanding area after following the low-speed procedure.
According to the online source Aviation Herald, a passenger confirmed the aircraft was returned to the gate after the aborted first takeoff attempt. The passenger said a second takeoff attempt was rejected. In both cases, the cause of the rejected takeoff was an engine failure.
The aircraft conducting the JU211 service to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport was an Airbus A319-100, registered YU-APA. This is a 20.1 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Air Serbia. It has been in operational service with the airline since April 2014. The aircraft operates under the airline name ‘Miki Manojlovic’.
Belle Air, Armavia, and Independence Air also operated the aircraft.
