On June 12, 2025, Delta Air Lines will make history with its first-ever nonstop flight from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to Seoul-Incheon International Airport (ICN).
This pioneering route will become the only direct link between Salt Lake City and Asia. It will offer connections to major Asian destinations for travelers from the Mountain West and Southwest U.S. regions.
Delta will operate the service with its Airbus A350, supported by facilities at SLC’s newly upgraded terminal and the spacious Delta Sky Club.
Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, highlighted the significance of this new service.
“The Salt Lake City to Seoul route provides customers with convenient access to Delta’s expanding global network. It guarantees that virtually all U.S. demand is connected to Seoul via nonstop or one-stop service.”
“As Salt Lake City grows as a crucial Delta hub, our robust joint venture with Korean Air allows us to offer unparalleled connectivity between the U.S. and Asia, utilizing strong hubs on both sides. This ensures that customers, including those in the interior U.S., can reach not just Seoul but key destinations across Asia.”
Delta’s Dominance at Salt Lake City
The new SLC-ICN flight joins Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Seattle as Delta’s fifth direct U.S. route to Seoul. With this addition, Delta and its partner Korean Air now offer access to Seoul from 14 U.S. gateways.
This provides the most extensive reach across Asia through the ICN hub compared to any other trans-Pacific joint venture. The route also reinforces Delta’s position as the largest long-haul foreign carrier at Incheon, enhancing its already unmatched reach across Asia.
Lee Hag-jae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, expressed confidence in the partnership.

This milestone route solidifies Delta’s leadership in Salt Lake City, where it operates more flights than all other carriers combined.
Delta’s strong presence includes nearly 250 peak-day departures to over 90 destinations worldwide, featuring nonstop service to international cities like Amsterdam, London, Paris, and Mexico City, among others.
SLC Infrastructure Developments
The carrier’s commitment to SLC is further strengthened by ongoing investments in the airport’s infrastructure.
In 2020, the airline celebrated the opening of the 900,000-square-foot Concourse A, featuring 50 Delta gates and 19 new restaurants and shops. By 2027, the airline plans to add even more gates, ensuring the hub remains a premier domestic and international gateway.
Travelers passing through Salt Lake City can indulge in Delta’s world-class amenities, including the 28,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club. Offering panoramic mountain views from the Sky Deck and a 360-degree fireplace, the lounge provides a relaxing haven for customers before their journey to Seoul.
Regional Significance
Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox commented on the new route’s regional significance. “As we open this new gateway to Asia, I’m excited to expand Utah’s global reach and foster new cultural and business partnerships.”
“Delta’s commitment to our state underscores Utah’s growing role on the world stage. I was delighted to meet with President Yoon Suk Yeol and discuss how this new route will deepen connections between Utah and Korea.”

A350 Comfort to Seoul
The daily, year-round service to Seoul will operate on the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900. This offers the latest in premium travel with Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin experiences.
Travelers can expect Delta’s renowned service and a uniquely premium onboard experience as they journey across the Pacific.
Delta One customers will enjoy a luxury experience with lie-flat seating, premium bedding, expanded beverage options, and a seasonal chef-curated four-course meal.
As part of Delta’s new collaboration with Italian fashion house Missoni, Delta One passengers will receive exclusive amenity kits featuring luxury details that elevate their inflight experience.
For customers in Delta Premium Select, wider seats, deeper recline, and elevated service create a more spacious and relaxing journey. Across all cabins, passengers can enjoy a curated food and beverage experience along with access to over 1,000 hours of entertainment via Delta Studio.
Delta is also expanding its fast, free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile. Already available on 90 percent of domestic flights, Delta is rolling out high-speed, streaming-quality Wi-Fi to long-haul international routes.
The entire global fleet is expected to offer free Wi-Fi by the end of next year, making it easier than ever for SkyMiles Members to stay connected during their travels.
