DHL Boeing 767 Suffers Tail Strike During Milan Landing

Earlier this week, a DHL Boeing 767 from Bahrain suffered a tail strike during it's landing into Milan Malpensa.

Earlier this week, a DHL Boeing 767 from Bahrain suffered a tail strike during it’s landing into Milan Malpensa.

Information has been released pertinent to the incident at hand, which we will get into in this article.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

DHL Flight ES752 – Bahrain to Milan…


Earlier this week, a DHL Boeing 767 from Bahrain suffered a tail strike during it's landing into Milan Malpensa.

DHL flight ES752, which suffered the tail strike on landing, is a routine scheduled flight between Bahrain and Milan Malpensa.

Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was A9C-DHAA.

As per data from Planespotters.net, A9C-DHAA is a 21.5 year old Boeing 767 that started out life with American Airlines in March 2003.

In August 2020, it was handed over to Jetran before being sent to DHL Holdings by the September of that year.

Between February 2021 to present day, it has done stints with the Panama subsidiary and the Bahraini division as well.

Within the Bahraini subsidiary, they have 10 of the 767-300 Freighter aircraft.

Furthermore, of the 10, all but two are in active service with an average fleet age of 22.2 years.

DHL flight ES752 departed Bahrain at 1608 local time on August 27 and tracked north-westerly towards Milan.

Everything was normal throughout the flight until the landing phase, as per The Aviation Herald.

It is understood that the aircraft’s tail struck the runway surface, which caused structural damage.

Moreover, it is understood an investigation has been opened into the incident.

Following the tail strike on DHL flight ES752 from Bahrain, A9C-DHAA, the Boeing 767 is still on the ground in Milan.

With there being structural damage, repairs will need to be made to the aircraft before it returns to commercial service.

Furthermore, investigators will need to take a look around the aircraft so then they can make the accurate assumptions in their investigation.

As soon as we have more information pertinent to this, then we will update you accordingly.
