Emirates has resumed daily passenger services to Lagos, Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in its African operations. The airline’s return to Nigeria’s largest city is expected to bolster trade ties, and enhance tourism between the two nations.
A high-level delegation from Emirates, led by Adil Al Ghaith, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations, Gulf, Middle East and Central Asia marked the occasion. Nigerian government officials, including His Excellency, Festus Keyamo, Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development of Nigeria joined the delegates.
The delegation’s presence highlighted the importance of this route restoration for both countries.
Lagos Route Restoration
Upon arrival, Emirates hosted a celebratory event attended by VIPs, government officials, industry leaders, and corporate clients.
The event showcased the airline’s commitment to providing exceptional service and contributing to the growth of the Nigerian aviation industry.
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Airline, spoke on the resumption of services.

His Excellency, Festus Keyamo, welcomed Emirates’ return to Nigeria, emphasizing the mutual benefits of the partnership. He highlighted the significance of this development for Nigeria’s aviation sector and its potential to attract more international travelers.
Emirates’ daily service between Dubai and Lagos offers convenient connections to key destinations. These span points across Europe, the United States, the Far East, and the wider Middle East. The airline’s modern fleet, including the Boeing 777-300ER, provides passengers with premium amenities and a comfortable journey.
Boeing 777-300ER Deployment
Emirates operate the Dubai-Lagos service with its Boeing 777-300ER widebody aircraft. The aircraft boasts eight First Class suites, and 42 Business class seats. This is complemented by 304 economy class seats, with added comforts and perks in each cabin class.
Emirates is one of only two airlines offering First Class in and out of Lagos. As such, it and offers an unrivalled experience with luxurious touches. This includes a premium selection of dishes and fine beverages, and one of the biggest entertainment screens in the sky.
Customers can tune in to over 6,500 channels of global entertainment, including 23 Nigerian movies, series and other content. This is all supported on ice, Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system.
To support travel to Dubai or onwards, Emirates will also facilitate 48 hour and 96 hour Dubai visa applications for travellers from Nigeria, an offer which is exclusive to the airline.
Celebrating the resumption of services, Emirates award-winning loyalty programme, Skywards, reinstated previous tier status levels for Skywards members to ensure continuation of earned benefits and recognition.
Air Cargo Support
Beyond passenger services, Emirates SkyCargo will support Nigerian businesses by offering ample cargo capacity for exports such as agricultural products, food and beverages, and courier materials.
The airline’s state-of-the-art hub in Dubai will ensure efficient and reliable transportation to global markets.
Emirates’ return to Lagos strengthens business links between the UAE and Nigeria. It also further reinforces the airline’s position as a leading player in the African aviation market.
