Whilst still in the climb after departure from Seattle, flight crew reported that hydraulic problem on board. As a result, it was decided to make a precautionary diversion to Portland International Airport (PDX).
Prior to landing the departure airport, flight crew entered a holding procedure to check the operation of the aircraft landing gear.
The aircraft then conducted its landing at Portland International Airport just under 60 minutes after the diversion was initiated.
The subsequent Federal aviation authority (FAA) report confirmed that the hydraulic issue was the cause of the diversion. They further confirmed the safe landing of the aircraft at Portland at approximately 1505 local time.
The incident will now become the subject of an FAA investigation.
