Flight data shows that Jet2 flight EXS051B initially departed from Manchester at 0903 local time this morning. The aircraft then tracked north to Scotland, climbing to flight level FL190 (19,000 feet). It is not certain whether the aircraft was conducting a test flight or a repositioning flight.
The flight then initiated a turnaround and tracked for a return south to Manchester. Following a period of holding, the return to Manchester was conducted. The aircraft operating the flight was a Boeing 737-800, registered G-DRTB. This is a 24.8 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Jet2.
