In the last few moments, Jet2 flight LS1258 from Tenerife to Birmingham has declared an emergency and looks to be returning.
G-JZHY is the aircraft involved in the incident.

UPDATE #1 @ 2311 UK time – LS1258 looks to be returning back to Tenerife South following the emergency declaration.
UPDATE #2 @ 2316 UK time – G-JZHY is the aircraft involved in the incident.
As per Planespotters, G-JZHY is a 7.3 year old Boeing 737-800 that was delivered to the airline in April 2017.
Of the 737-800 variant, Jet2 has 99 of them in their fleet.
Furthermore, of that 99, all but one are in active service, with an average fleet age of 14.8 years.
Moreover, as well as the 737-800, the airline also has the following other aircraft in their fleet:
– 7 Boeing 737-300s.
– 6 757-200s.
– 13 Airbus A321 Family aircraft.
– 2 A330 aircraft (On lease from AirTanker).
UPDATE #3 @ 2319 UK time – Jet2 flight LS1258, originally bound for Birmingham from Tenerife, has changed it’s squawk code from 7700, the emergency code, to 4367.
Moreover, it is clear that the issue is still serious enough to prompt a return back to Tenerife South.
UPDATE #4 @ 2325 UK time – LS1258 is approaching the base leg back into TFS following the previous emergency call and subsequent u-turn.
UPDATE #5 @ 2329 UK time – LS1258 is now on final into TFS, with landing expected imminently.

UPDATE #6 @ 2333 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! Jet2 flight LS1258, originally bound for Birmingham, has appeared to have touched down safely back into Tenerife South following it’s emergency call not too long ago.
Furthermore, the cause of the return is not yet known.
As soon as we have more information pertinent to this, then we will update you accordingly.
For now, this remains a developing story pending additional updates.
UPDATE #7 @ 2342 UK time – As per @FlightEmergency on X, the cause of the u-turn and subsequent emergency was medical-related.
