Jetstar Asia (3K) is set to relaunch its budget-friendly flights between Singapore and Medan, Indonesia, following a four-year hiatus.
Starting 1 November 2024, the airline will become the sole low-cost carrier offering direct flights between these vibrant cities. Medan will join Jakarta, Denpasar, and Surabaya as Jetstar Asia’s fourth Indonesian destination.
Singapore-Medan Route Revival
The airline will operate a daily service connecting Singapore’s Changi Airport with Medan’s Kualanamu International Airport. Jetstar Asia expects to carry over 130,000 passengers annually between the Lion City and North Sumatra’s capital.
Medan is the capital of North Sumatra, Indonesia, and the largest city outside of Java. Known for its vibrant culture, delicious food, and rich history, Medan is a captivating destination for travelers.
To mark this occasion, Jetstar Asia is offering special promotional fares. These start from just SG$79, with Club Jetstar members enjoying an exclusive rate of SG$74.
Jetstar Asia CEO John Simeone gave comment on the Indonesia route restoration. He described the route’s revival as a testament to the airline’s commitment to expanding its Indonesian presence. “Indonesia is crucial for our business and leisure travelers. With Medan’s reintroduction, we’ll now operate over 40 weekly flights to Indonesia,” Simeone stated.
He added, “We’re thrilled to reconnect our customers with Medan, a city rich in cultural experiences and economic opportunities. Being the only low-cost carrier offering direct flights on this route highlights our dedication to making travel more accessible and affordable.”
Simeone expressed gratitude to Changi Airport Group and Kualanamu International Airport for their continued support. He said that the airline is looking forward to further collaboration in providing convenient, low-fare travel options.
