KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announces a significant expansion of its international network with three new destinations from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

The airline will connect Amsterdam with San Diego USA, Georgetown Guyana, and Hyderabad India.

The broad scope of the network additions reinforces the carrier’s global presence and provides travelers with enhanced connectivity options.

San Diego, California’s third-largest metropolitan area, boasts a thriving business sector focused on semiconductors, aerospace, defense, and pharmaceuticals. The city is renowned for its pleasant climate and more than 100 kilometers of diverse coastline.

Local authorities warmly welcomed the addition of the new KLM service. “We are very pleased to have KLM join as the 19th carrier at SAN,” said Kimberly Becker, CEO and President, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.

“This summer, European travel is up over 30 percent compared to last year. Amsterdam, with its iconic canals and world-class museums and corporate ties to the San Diego region, will be the 10th international destination offered from SA. We look forward to a continued demand from both business and leisure international travelers.”

KLM Strategic Network Expansion

These routes represent significant market opportunities for the Air France-KLM, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic joint venture, particularly in San Diego’s previously unserved market.

The expansion demonstrates KLM’s strategic focus on connecting high-growth markets with its extensive global network.

By adding these diverse destinations, KLM not only enhances its route portfolio but also provides customers with more convenient travel options to key business and leisure destinations.

The new services will operate with modern, fuel-efficient aircraft equipped with the latest passenger comfort features, underlining KLM’s commitment to premium customer experience.
