This week has seen London Gatwick Airport celebrate new flights to Bangalore, thanks to Air India.
The airport has expanded it’s presence into the Indian market further as a result of this new route.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
The Air India London Gatwick-Bangalore Flights…
The new London Gatwick to Bangalore flights with Air India will operate on a five times per week basis.
It is also the airport’s fifth connection to India, with the airport already supporting flights to:
- Goa
- Kochi
- Ahmedabad
- Amritsar
In total, it means that London Gatwick will support the servicing of 19 flights per week to the country, with the new Bangalore flights with Air India definitely supporting that.
The UK Airport Is Happy About The New Route…
Commenting on the launch of the new flights to Bangalore with Air India was Stephanie Wear, VP Aviation Development, London Gatwick:
“This new service to Bengaluru is excellent news for both passengers and businesses across London and the South East.”
“This city’s dynamic tech industry and cultural significance makes it a fantastic addition to our route network.”
“It’s set to be a popular service, providing fantastic opportunities for both tourism and trade.”
The airport also added that they are actively “working to double connectivity with India over the next five years, recognising the strong economic and cultural links between the countries. Key priority destinations for future growth include Delhi and Mumbai.”
Overall…
In conclusion, this is yet another step in the right direction for London Gatwick after launching these new flights to Bangalore through Air India.
Looking ahead, with the country on the roadmap for the UK airport’s growth, it will be interesting to see what such expansion will look like in the future.
Moreover, all eyes will be on how the new flights perform, as well as whether there is scope to expand this further.
But for now, all eyes will be on the first few weeks to see what performance looks like on the route.
