Peach Aviation Flight From Nagoya Suffers Runway Excursion in Sapporo

Earlier this week, a Peach Aviation flight from Nagoya suffered a runway excursion after landing into Sapporo.

Earlier this week, a Peach Aviation flight from Nagoya suffered a runway excursion after landing into Sapporo.

Information has been released pertinent to the incident at hand, which we will get into in this article.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

Peach Aviation Flight MM465 – Nagoya to Sapporo…


Earlier this week, a Peach Aviation flight from Nagoya suffered a runway excursion after landing into Sapporo.

Peach Aviation flight MM465, which suffered the runway excursion, is a routine scheduled flight between Nagoya & Sapporo.

Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was JA211P.

As per data from Planespotters.net, JA211P is a 1.3 year old Airbus A320neo that was delivered to the airline in July 2023.

Of the A320neo, Peach Aviation has 17 of them in their fleet, of which all but one are in active service, with an average fleet age of 2.2 years.

As well as the A320neo, the Japanese carrier has the following other aircraft in their fleet:

  • 16 Airbus A320ceos.
  • 3 Airbus A321s.

Peach Aviation flight MM465, which suffered the runway excursion, departed Nagoya at 1319 local time on September 10 bound for Sapporo.

Data from RadarBox highlights that the Airbus A320neo landed safely into it’s destination at 1516 local time.

However, as per The Aviation Herald, it was as the aircraft was vacating that the problem began.

It is understood the crew took the wrong turn off from the runway, which was closed for reconstruction works.

As a result, the aircraft became disabled, resulting in the runway having to be closed.

Aircraft Grounded Following the Incident…

Following the runway excursion involving Peach Aviation MM465 Nagoya-Sapporo, JA211P remains grounded at the Japanese airport.

Furthermore, it is also unclear whether the aircraft sustained any damage following the excursion.

We do know that the NOTAMs still highlight the fact that the runway is closed still.

This means that the aircraft will no doubt have to be pulled away from the construction works before the runway can reopen.
