A SpiceJet flight inbound from Darbhanga has declared an emergency whilst approaching Mumbai.
SpiceJet flight SG116, operated by a Boeing 737-800, declared the emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst in the cruise approaching Mumbai.
08:00 UTC: Arrival to Mumbai (BOM)
Flight SG116 declared the emergency just prior to its descent into the destination Mumbai (BOM). The flight has continued the approach to Mumbai, and is now on descent through FL130 (13,000 feet). Flight crew are maintaining the priority transponder code 7700 for the arrival.
The SpiceJet flight SG116 emergency declaration follows a similar declaration by Vistara flight UK624, which has just landed in Mumbai. Vistara flight UK624 also declared an emergency as it commenced descent into Mumbai.
Flight SG116 is now established on final approach to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai (BOM).

Having declared an emergency whilst approaching Mumbai from Darbhanga, SpiceJet flight SG116 has now landed Mumbai (BOM).

Flight data shows that SpiceJet flight SG116 made an on-time departure out of Darbhanga Airport (DBR) at 1138 local time today. The flight had then proceed normally, climbing to flight level FL380 (38,000 feet) for the southerly regional service to Mumbai.
Flight crew squawked transponder code 7700 at 0747 UTC, just prior to top of descent for Mumbai.
The aircraft conducting today’s SG116 regional service from Darbhanga was a Boeing 737-800, registered VT-SYZ. This is a 17.6 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier SpiceJet.
