Turkish Airlines is set to expand its global reach by adding Santiago, Chile to its network. This new route is now scheduled to launch on December 18, 2024. It will mark the airline’s 10th country served in the Americas.
The flag carrier of Türkiye will operate four weekly flights from Istanbul to Santiago, with a stopover in Sao Paulo each way.
This addition brings Turkish Airlines’ total destinations in the Americas to 26, strengthening its presence in the region. Travelers can now book their Santiago flights through various channels, including the airline’s website, mobile app, sales offices, and authorized agencies.
Expansion in the Americas
This new route offers seamless access to Santiago, a bustling city known for its rich history, cultural attractions, and breathtaking Andean scenery. It also enhances connections between Türkiye and Chile. For global travelers, this means easier access to South America, with just one stopover in Istanbul.

Recent Network Expansions
As well as bolstering its Americas network, Turkish Airlines recently expanded its foot print in Australia.
The airline will add Sydney, the largest city of Australia, to its robust flight network. The becomes its second foray into the continent. Turkish also marks the city as its first destination in Australia to have non-stop flights in the future.
Also set to commence in December, the Istanbul – Sydney flights will be operated four times a week via Kuala Lumpur with Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Established in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft, Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines has a fleet of 465 aircraft. They fly to 349 worldwide destinations as 296 international and 53 domestics in 130 countries.
