A United Airlines Boeing 787-10 operating a service from Chicago to Frankfurt has declared an emergency whilst approaching Frankfurt.
United flight UA907 declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst in transit over UK airspace, inbound to Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA).

Having declared the emergency whilst in UK airspace, flight UA907 is now initiating a diversion, possibly to London Gatwick Airport. The nature of the problem prompting the diversion is not yet known.
The flight is now on descent below 5,000 feet and expediting the diversion.

United flight UA907, inbound from Chicago, has expedited its descent and diversion and now appears to be establishing an approach to London Gatwick. Flight crew have maintained the priority transponder code 7700 through the procedure.

Having declared an emergency and expedited a diversion earlier this morning, United flight UA907 has now landed at London Gatwick Airport (LGW).
The aircraft conducting the UA907 long haul service from Chicago O’Hare International Airport was a Boeing 787-10, registered N14001. This is a 6.1 year old wide body aircraft belonging to the US carrier United Airlines. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in November 2018.
