A United Express CRJ-200 operating a service from Denver, CO to Williston, ND diverted to Rapid City, SD after losing cabin pressure on 13 October 2024.
United Express flight UA5293, operated by a SkyWest Airlines CRJ-200, was en route from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Williston Basin International Airport (XWA).

Whilst in cruising flight, the aircraft experienced the loss of cabin pressure. Flight crew donned oxygen masks and conducted an emergency descent to 10,000 feet.
The decision was made to divert to nearby Rapid City Regional Airport (RAD). The aircraft subsequently landed without further incident at Rapid City, approximately 30 minutes after the incident occurred.
According to the online source Aviation Herald, flight crew had donned oxygen masks following the depressurisation event. A passenger on the flight reported that the cabin passenger oxygen masks were not released.
The airline mustered a replacement aircraft to complete the scheduled service to Williston from Rapid City.

Flight data shows that flight UA5293 had made a delayed departure from Denver International Airport on 13 October. The actual time of departure for the flight was logged as 0844 local time. Scheduled departure time for the service was listed as 0746 local time.
Following departure, the flight had proceeded normally. The aircraft climbed to flight level FL330 (33,000 feet) for the for the northerly route to North Dakota.
A depressurised descent was conducted when the aircraft was abeam Rapid City to the west, by approximately 30 nautical miles.
A direct track to Rapid City was then carried out at the reduced altitude of 10,000 feet. The aircraft conducting the UA5293 service for United Express was a Bombardier CRJ-200, registered N930SW. this is a 22.1-year-old regional aircraft belonging to United Express, and operated by SkyWest Airlines.
It has been operational service with the carrier since its initial delivery in November 2002.
